During the past 15 years(first as the manager of the Isla Contoy Restaurant and now as the owner of La Torreja) I have worked with tour agencies,student groups,families,fishermen, birdwatchers and corporate groups to provide tours,meals and rooms for their stay.With my wife Matilda,sons,daughter and the
members of the Rio Lagartos Adventures Cooperative, we have worked hard to provide consistent high quality food and tours for our visitors.

Student group November 2009The group arrived in the late afternoon and settled into their hotel. Just before sunset they boarded the launches for a sunset/crocodile night trip and returned to La Torreja for dinner.The next morning we took the group on a combination flamingo/birdwatching/Bano
Maya(mud bath) followed by a swim at a deserted Gulf beach.During the trips the guides answer questions and explain the natural features of this remarkable bio reserve.We always try to match the tours to the
interests of the groups and educate them about the area while keeping it fun.

Jeep Caravans
We recently accommodated two corporate groups(120 and 90) that were touring the Yucatan by Jeep.When they arrived in the morning they boarded the launches for a Flamingo/birdwatching boat tour . On their
return to La Torreja Restaurant we served them a lunch of fresh fish and seafood served family style.120 is the maximum we can handle in the restaurant.
